Inspect Electrical Connections

Make sure all the electrical connections running to and from your adjustable bed base are securely plugged in. This includes inspecting both ends of the power cord and verifying that the outlet itself has power.

Check Remote Batteries

Another really common culprit behind unresponsive adjustable beds? Dead remote batteries. Replace the batteries in the handheld controller, carefully following any guide dots that indicate proper battery insertion.

Locate Manual Reset Buttons

Many adjustable bases have a manual reset button, usually located either underneath the bed frame near the power cord or cable, or on the side of the bed near the power supply. Check your owner's manual to find the exact location for your model.

Resetting by Model

While reset procedures share common concepts across brands, the specific steps can vary based on the make and model of your adjustable bed:

Sleep Number

For Sleep Number beds without a remote, press and hold the sleep mode button on the right side of the bed base for 10 full seconds. This will reset all sleep number settings to factory default and return the bed to a flat position. Alternatively, locate the smaller manual reset button on the underside of the bed near the power cable and hold it down for 10 seconds.

Easy Rest

Easy Rest adjustable beds often have the reset instructions printed directly on the remote control that accompanies the bed. Start by unplugging the power cord from both the outlet and underside of the bed, wait 30 seconds, then firmly plug back into both locations. Next, follow the precise reset method described on your remote. If issues persist, call the Easy Rest National Customer Service Center at 866-852-2337 for hands-on reset assistance.

Generic Adjustable Beds

Wireless Remotes

For generic adjustable beds using an RF wireless remote, start by fully disconnecting the bed's power cord from the electrical outlet for at least 30 seconds before plugging back in. For the Premier Model Adjustable Bed, press and hold the "head up" and "flat" buttons simultaneously for 30 full seconds. For the Platinum Model, simultaneously hold down the "POS 1" button on the top left and "ON/OFF" button on the bottom right for a full 30 seconds or until the indicator light begins flashing rapidly.

Corded Remotes

If using an adjustable bed with a corded controller, first unplug the entire bed base from the wall outlet. Next, locate and press the small pinhole reset button on the back of corded remote using a pen or paperclip. Continue holding the remote's reset button down for at least 10 seconds before releasing.

When Resets Fail

If you've run through all model-specific reset procedures to no avail, try these last troubleshooting tactics before calling for service:

Double Check Connections

Visually inspect every connection between remote, power cord, bed base and outlet for secure fit. Review battery orientation and insertion in wireless remotes. Loose connections can mimic need for resets.

Contact Manufacturer Support

Most adjustable bed brands provide troubleshooting help guides on their websites, or through customer service agents by phone. Locate the model number ID tag on your bed base before calling. Technicians can walk through advanced resets, or if needed, schedule on-site service calls.
